Last weekend the WHS girl’s volleyball team traveled to Richfield to compete in a state-wide tournament.

Although the season has not been a banner success in the win column for the Lady Wasps, head coach Joe Mellen and his assistants have created a positive atmosphere that will no doubt carry over into the future of the volleyball program.

After having played several tough matches in the early going, the varsity girls came out on top with two wins to take the Copper Bracket.

According to Mellen, on Saturday, his girls played very well and in the actual tournament it all came together. “Annie Huntsman had a great tournament and led us offensively and Tristin Bills played great defense as the libero,” Mellen said. “The team really came together and it was a fun weekend.”

Wasatch has three region contests remaining in its 2013 campaign.
