Wasatch County 4-H Horse Team wraps up successful year

The Wasatch County 4-H Horse program has just finished a successful year by participating in the 2013 Utah State 4-H Two-Handed and Individual Horse shows in Ogden. Members started the year by participating in weekly practice sessions beginning in May. They participated in three county shows held during June, July, and the Wasatch County Fair show in August. 35 riders participated in the County 4-H Horse program this year.

Those participating in the Utah State 4-H Two-Handed and Individual Horse Shows and their results were:

Two-Handed Show: Camille Bethers: 2nd place Senior Test; 4th place Senior Showmanship; 2nd place Senior Western Pleasure; 5th place Senior Equitation and 3rd place Senior Overall.

Alexis World: 4th place Intermediate Test; 1st place Intermediate Showmanship; 1st place Intermediate Western Pleasure; 4th place Intermediate Equitation and 1st place Intermediate High Point Overall Champion.

Karissa World: 3rd place Junior Test; 2nd place Junior Showmanship; 5th place Junior Western Pleasure; 3rd place Junior Equitation; 2nd place Trail and 2nd place Junior Overall High Point.

Megan Bond and Hayden Andersen also participated in the Intermediate division.

Individual Show: Camille Bethers: 4th place Senior Western Horsemanship.

Emily Haight: 7th place Senior Barrels; 9th place Senior Quadrangle Stake Race.

Alexis World: 10th place Intermediate Test; 3rd place Intermediate Showmanship; 5th place Intermediate Western Horsemanship; 2nd place Trail; 3rd place Intermediate Overall Judged; 18th place Intermediate All Around.

Karissa World: 9th place Junior Showmanship; 1st place Junior Trail; 3rd place Junior Overall Judged; 8th place Junior All Around.

Other participants in the Utah State 4-H Horse Individual Show: Senior Division: Ria McCarthy. Intermediate Division: Hayden Andersen, Caleb Andersen, Addison McCarthy, Megan Bond. Junior Division: McKardy Kelly, Sage Carlson, Rachel Haight, Kenyon Bethke, Anna Tuite, Brayden Goodrich.

Other participants in the 4-H Horse program: Senior division: Shannon McFee, Laura Lance, Cheyenne McDaniel. Intermediate division included: Lillian Barrus, Shelby Parker; Landrea Lance, Madison Cruz, Laura Gappmayer, Quincy Olney, Katie Wall. Junior division included: Jaden Huggard, Jaston Willoughby, Novice division included: Mackayla Brown, Carter Brown, Summer Ralph, Reed Gappmayer, Anna Zollinger, Issac Horner, Austin Horner, Jane Haight.

The year-end High Point winners were presented with a buckle on 4-H achievement night. The Senior award winner was Camille Bethers. The Intermediate award winner was Alexis World. The Junior award winner was Karissa World. The Novice award winner was Jane Haight. She was presented with a jacket.
