Born Aug. 30, 1928, to Delia Christina Kofford and Austin S. Mayhew in Utahn, Utah. Married Joe Lewis DiStefano on Nov. 24, 1945, in Hotchkiss, Colorado, where they resided before moving to Tabiona, Utah where they lived in the old DiStefano homestead. In 1952 they moved to Heber City, where she lived until her death. At a young age mom learned the value of hard work. She was a waitress for many years holding jobs at Turners, Chicks Cafe and the Hub. She also was employed as a telephone operator until 1965 when it went dial. Mom and Dad where employed at the YCC camp in the summers where they cooked for the youth. She was then employed by the Wasatch County School District where she was a cook and then later a supervisor. She was also employed by Wasatch County as receptionist. Mom loved her family; she loved family reunions and get-together. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served a mission, in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her dear friend Eva Provost. They enjoyed serving the Lord, having many successes. Mom loved getting together in organizations. She served as a member and past president of the Sego Lily DUP Camp. She was also a member of the Annassia Club as well as the grand Tappers.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Lewis DiStefano; a brother Don Mayhew; a son-in-law David W. Keller, and grandson Timothy W. Keller. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Keller; sons, Tony and LaRae DiStefano, Kevin and Gayla DiStefano and Shawn DiStefano. Thirteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A sister Beulah (Lyle) Welsh, and a brother Guy (Carol) Mayhew.
Funeral Services will held Thursday, Nov. 7, 11 a.m., at the Heber LDS 9th Ward, 325 E. 500 N., Heber City.
A viewing for friends and family will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main, Heber City, and 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
