Doris Thacker Gardner, age 89, died on Sept. 29, 2013, at her home in Lehi, with her sons around her.

Born March 10, 1924, to George Angus and Chloe Loretta Stanley Thacker in Park City. She was the second of five children. Married Glenn M. Gardner on May 4, 1942, marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 15, 1954. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings over the years. She served a mission to the Missionary Training Center in Provo. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and was always serving someone until the last few weeks of her life, what a great example she has been to her family and anyone who knew her. She was also an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved genealogy work, painting and sewing. Her family was her greatest treasure.

She is survived by her sons: Lance (Phyletta) Heber City; Alan (LeAnn), Idaho Falls, ID, and Paul (Marilynn) Riverton, UT, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Donna) Thacker, Heber City, and sister Anna Durrant, Kaysville. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Stanley and Glenna Thacker; her husband; son Scott, and grandson Eric Scott Gardner.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, at 1 p.m., in the Lehi 7th Ward Chapel, 300 West State Street, Lehi.
